Job Description

Summary/Objective
The class assistant position provides support by assisting students with movements and positions and helping the lead teacher(s) maintain control of the classroom and class flow.

Essential Functions

  • Physically assist students

  • Demonstrate movements and positions for students

  • Verbally guide students

  • Work in tandem with the primary teachers to facilitate class exercises and flow

Requirements

  • Take a KMA Yoga Dance Class

  • Have prior experience doing yoga, dance, and/or gymnastics

  • Complete the full application process, which includes initiating a background check and filling out KMA waiver and releases

  • Attend a KMA orientation session, which includes training on Sexual Abuse and Molestation Issues

  • Attend ongoing training (short sessions offered at regular intervals to learn techniques for assisting students)

Pay Range: $15-20/hr., commensurate with experience

  2. Complete our Release and Waiver Form.

  3. Take a KMA Yoga Dance Class to gain an understanding of KMA’s approach.

  4. Check our schedule and arrange to view a KMA class in action.

  5. Complete a background check.

  6. Complete our Sexual Abuse and Molestation Training.

  7. Attend KMA trainings in how to assist students in doing yoga, dance, and gymnastics.
